About the event

Great Decisions Lecture Series Climate Change and the Global Order Thursday, February 20 Community Meeting Room, Lynchburg Public Library Light Refreshments: 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.; Presentations: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m

Dr. Greg Haugan, retired Senior Executive Service Bureau Director in the US Department of Transportation and Group Leader of the Lynchburg Chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby

Climate change has become one of the defining issues of our time. As much of the world bands together to come up with a plan, namely around the Paris Accord, the U.S. remains the notable holdout. What is the rest of the world doing to combat climate change? How is the current world order changing? What impact will the effects of climate change have on global geopolitics?  What are the major decisions that need to be made? What are the options?

_______________________________________________ If Lynchburg Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Great Decisions lecture for that day will be canceled and rescheduled for Thursday, March 5 if possible.

The Lynchburg Branch of the AAUW, the League of Women Voters of Lynchburg, the Lynchburg Public Library, and Givens Books are the sponsors of the lectures.

Topics are suggested by the Foreign Policy Association.  For briefing and research papers see http://www.fpa.org.  The Lynchburg Public Library has set aside information on the Great Decisions topics for your convenience.
